Garments that fade away after use, like Leaves in the Forest.
Thanks to the efforts of several activists, many brands are focusing their attention on sustainability.
One interesting project I noticed is the Puma x Streamateria collection ‘Design to Fade’.
They worked on a bio-design project that explored sustainable ways of producing and dyeing textiles. For this reason, they developed biodegradable garments that fade away like a leaf in a forest. They have a skeletal structure inspired by a leaf covered by a degradable material.
Thus, inspired by them, I created this 3D fashion editorial, with my muse flying light as a leaf. Its body is made from a cork mesh. Then, I created a natural but futuristic environment, so that it will fall and fade away in nature. I chose to create a futuristic environment as I believe this should be the future for the entire fashion industry: biodegradable and sustainable garments.
